  1. Favorite Pen is like choosing your favorite child!!! Not fair to all the great pens I have… LOL but if forced to choose just one it would be my Pelikan Souverän M805 Stresemann. For my favorite ink I will go with Sailor Jentle Yama-dori! Thanks for the giveaway! Cheers. Tom

  2. Thanks for doing this! Favorite pen of the moment — because that’s as long as anything stays a favorite — is the surprisingly smooth Jinhao 992 (clone of a Sailor, I’d say.) And, the ink du jour is, um, Nooder’s Purple Martin!

  3. Have only just started in March in using fountain pens. Currently, my favourite fountain pen is the Pilot Vanishing Point paired with Robert Oster Graphite. Quite like the Robert Oster Barossa Grape too.

    And thanks for the giveaway!

  4. Fave pen: sailor pro gear slim starburst galaxy, b nib. Fave ink: Noodler’s Baystate Blue! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  5. Favorite pen is Edison Glenmont LE with stub nib–so smooth! Favorite ink–KWZ IG Turquoise.

  6. If I absolutely had to choose my favorite pen I would have to pick the Lamy Safari. It may seem like a boring favorite to have considering how many fantastic pens are available…but it was my first venture into this fantastic world of fountain pen and inks. I bought it in undergrad and it served me all through my note taking days of undergrad and graduate school…and it’s still going strong!

  7. Favorite? FAVORITE???

You people know the folly in that! Nonetheless, I look across the desk here and think which pen gets grabbed all the time, which ink sees the most fillings. It all comes together in one object, a pen that is always filled with the same ink:

Sailor Pro Gear Realo Classic Fountain Pens 20th Anniversary Pen, perenially filled with Namiki Blue. A truly perfect combination for me.

  8. My favorite pen would be my emerald Parker vacumatic. My current favorite ink is Robert Oster Fire & Ice because I love blues and shading!

  9. My fave pen and ink pairing tends to change but right now, I’m loving my TWSBI 580AL and Robert Oster Peppermint. I love love love the ink window awesomeness.

  10. I whole heartily agree with Jon. You know this folly. However fav. pen right now is Delta The Journal. fave. ink right now is Diamine Ancient Copper

  11. I love my TWSBI Eco pens (medium and stub). I’m currently enjoying De Atramentis Fog Grey for notes and doodles at work.

  12. Pelikan M205 Aquamarine is my favorite pen, and my favorite ink is Diamine Blue Velvet, but they aren’t together right now.

  13. Favorite pen: probably my 1st gen Pilot Elabo SEF. I have more expensive pens, and “better” pens, but this is the one I have had inked since the day it arrived. Unsurprisingly, its best pairings are Pilot Blue Black and Sailor Blue.

Favorite ink: tie between Pilot Blue/Black and Noodler’s Walnut, just judging from use. Both are business appropriate and waterproof. But RO Fire & Ice is climbing the ranks quickly.

  14. My favorite pen overall is my Laban Don Quixote pen, but it is both sentimental and heavy for carrying outside the house, so I use a Pilot Metropolitan for that. Among the five inks (two blacks, one blue, one green, and one purple) that I’ve tried so far, my favorite is Cross blue, but I’d like to find a dark brown or black, or blue-black that doesn’t take too long to dry and has some water resistance.

  15. I enjoy my Aurora Idea with it’s medium nib. Been using daily and very much enjoy Diamine Majestic Blue. Guess I’ll find out what RO Fire & Ice is all about when its time to refill.

  16. My favorite fountain pen is theBexley 58 with a broad steel nib purchased from Richard Binder and my current favorite ink is DeAtramentis Atlantic blue.

  17. My favorite fountain pen is my Pilot Vanishing Point Guilloche though my TWSBI 580 AL Silver isn’t far behind. My current ink favorite is Pilot Iroshizuku Kujaku. Love it!

  18. Still a hatchling in this hobby so my pens are relatively entry-level and my inks are in sample vial quantities. Current favorites are the TWSBI Eco in lime green (because lime green & piston filling mechanism, y’all) & Sailor Jentle Tokiwa-Matsu. The dark green liquid sloshing in the barrel is a sight to behold, plus the reddish sheen matches the pen’s red finial. My current perfect pairing!

  19. So far my favourite pen is a Jinhao x750 I got very early on from Amazon. Had all sorts of issues with it to start, and have learned a lot tuning it to something very usable now.

It is loaded with Private Reserve Orange Crush, which is a great saturated ink, but unfortunately no sheen.

  20. Oh dear, choosing my favorite fountain pen out of my collection is quite a challenge since I’ve managed to whittle it down to my very favorites. I guess right now it would be my Sailor Pro Gear Slim in the Morita blue color with a B nib. As for my favorite ink, my Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue with its fabulous sheening properties on TR paper has held on to the title for quite a while now.

  21. My collection of pens and inks is still very small…I keep telling myself I’m not in it to be a collector, and then I see a cool vintage Kaweco or an ink that catches my eye. My favorite pen is my vintage Kaweco Sport v16 and my favorite ink is Sailor Jentle Yama-dor.

  22. Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite ink is Sailor Grenade and my favorite pen has to be the Pilot Decimo.

  23. Thanks for this opportunity.
My favorite pen, for sentimental and functional reasons: My Esterbrook SJ, red barrel.
I don’t think I have a single favorite ink, but in that pen I like any deep red, such as Diamine Monaco Red, Syrah, or Oxblood.

  24. My favourite pen is definitely my Pilot Vanishing Point for it’s low profile and ease of use.

But my favourite ink is J Herbin Emerald of Chivor for it’s vibrancy, sheen and glitter!

    Thanks for organising this giveaway!

  25. My current favourite is my TWSBI 580AL. Which colour? I can’t decide! As for my favourite ink? Right now, it’s Robert Oster Fire and Ice.

  26. My favourite pen right now is the TWSBI 580AL. Which colour? I can’t decide! As for my favourite ink, it’s Robert Oster Fire and Ice.

  27. My favourite pen is a vintage Parker Duofold Junior (1958) with a 14k gold nib. My first gold-nib pen and a steal at only £23 from an antique shop. It writes beautifully, especially with my favourite ink Diamine Ancient Copper. It manages to show off the beautiful shading and subtle red tones. Just lovely.

  28. My collection is small because I’m still a newbie to fountain pens, but I love my trusty Pilot Metropolitan with a Fine nib. I like my trusty Noodler’s Black ink and don’t have much experience with other inks…which is why I’d love to win this giveaway!

  29. My favorite pen (so far) is the Conklin All American and my favorite ink is Noodler’s X-Feather
